Ingredients

3 cups of Flour

2 teaspoons of Baking powder

½ tablespoon of Salt

3 tablespoons of Sugar

225 grams of Butter

½ cup of Milk

3 Eggs

½ teaspoon of Clove

½ teaspoon of Cinnamon

½ teaspoon of Ginger

4 tablespoons of Dark brown sugar

Quince jam

1 cup of Almonds

½ Chopped glazed fruits

½ cup of White and black raisins

1 Egg yolk for glazing

1 Egg whites and powdered sugar for icing, red and green cherries for decoration

Preparation

Step 1 : For the dough, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Step 2 : Then, add the butter, cutting it in with two knives until forming a circle.

Step 3 : Next, carefully mix in the milk and eggs, combining everything without over-kneading.

Step 4 : Roll out the resulting dough with a rolling pin on parchment paper and flour until reaching about one centimeter in thickness in a rectangular shape.

Step 5 : Spread the rolled dough with butter.

Step 6 : To prepare the filling, mix all the indicated spices: clove, ginger, and dark brown sugar.

Step 7 : Spread this mixture over the dough, spread with jam, and sprinkle with almonds or walnuts, white raisins, black raisins, and glazed fruits.

Step 8 : Then, form a circle by joining the two ends.

Step 9 : Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for 30 to 40 minutes.

Step 10 : Finally, cover the ring with glaze made by mixing beaten egg whites with powdered sugar, or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
