Peanut Llajua is a traditional Bolivian sauce full of intense flavors. Made with toasted peanuts, ground yellow chili, and spices, it offers a spicy and aromatic touch that enhances any dish.
It is prepared by blending toasted peanuts with water in a blender and cooking with ground yellow chili, pepper, cumin, oil, and salt.
The mixture is simmered over low heat for at least 40 minutes, adjusting the consistency by adding water if necessary.

Peanut Llajua
Ingredients
1 cup of Peanuts, shelled and toasted
3 Ground yellow chili pods
1 teaspoon of Pepper
1 pinch of Cumin
Oil
Water
1 pinch of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : Blend the peanuts in the blender with a little water until you get a smooth paste.
Step 2 : In a pot, heat about three-quarters of a cup of oil and add the ground yellow chili, mixing to incorporate.
Step 3 : Once the oil is hot, add the peanut paste and mix well.
Step 4 : Add the pepper, salt, and a pinch of cumin, stirring to distribute the spices.
Step 5 : Lower the heat to low and let the sauce cook for at least 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6 : If the sauce becomes too thick, gradually add water until reaching the desired consistency.
Step 7 : Serve the sauce warm, accompanying your favorite dishes for an authentic Bolivian touch.
