The tejti or peanut chicha is a typical non-alcoholic beverage, prepared with rice, cinnamon, cloves, peanuts, chancaca, and sugar. With a delicious light coffee color, this refreshing Bolivian drink can be enjoyed at markets in La Paz, inviting you to taste the culture.

Ingredients
2 cups of Rice
225 grams of Toasted unsalted peanuts
1 Large cinnamon stick
8 Cloves
Chancaca
Preparation
Step 1 : In a non-stick skillet, toast the rice.
Step 2 : Then, boil the rice in a pot with three liters of water, cinnamon, and cloves.
Step 3 : Once the rice has burst, let it cool and pour it into a clay or earthenware jug.
Step 4 : Add 2 liters of boiled water to the jug.
Step 5 : Grind the peanuts until you get a creamy paste.
Step 6 : Store the peanut oil in a clean glass container.
Step 7 : Combine the peanut cream with the chancaca in the jug.
Step 8 : Mix the preparation once a day until ready.
Step 9 : Strain the drink before serving, sweeten with brown sugar or chancaca, and decorate with a few drops of peanut on top.
